O’KEY has supported the customers’ petition and introduced ethnic food to its regular assortment in the Republic of Bashkortostan

In such a way, O’KEY Group has fulfilled the request of the petition at change.org to support production of traditional Tatar and Bashkir echpochmak pies. “I like echpochmak pies a lot, but I can’t find them at O’KEY stores anymore”, - mentioned the author of the petition.

Echpochmak is a triangular pie stuffed with potato and meat; it is typical for Tatar and Bashkir traditional cuisine. Chak-chak dessert as well as echpochmak pie are the most popular and famous local specialties.

O’KEY comment:
“Paying close attention to customers’ preferences is one of the key points of O’KEY Group development strategy. We are pleased that according to our customers O’KEY stores sell the most tasty pies and pastries (including echpochmak). Echpochmak pies stuffed with beef and belesh pies stuffed with chicken can be found at all three O’KEY stores in Ufa.

We would like to once again draw the attention of production managers and food technologists that these pies are included into regular assortment, and they should be available during the store working hours”.

O’KEY echpochmak recipe:

O’KEY bakers use yeast-free dough since it is considered healthier. The filling is made of raw beef, potato and onions. Beef soaks in onions and potato juice in the course of baking, thus making echpochmak soft and flavoury.

Dough ingredients:

Wheat flour – 3 cups
Butter – 200 g.
Kefir – 1 cup
Egg – 1
Salt – ½ teaspoon
Stuffing ingredients:
Cut all the ingredients into tiny pieces:
Meat – 0.5 kg
Potato – 2-3 pieces
Onion – 2 pieces
Black pepper (add to your taste)

When the dough is ready, divide it into pieces 50 g each, roll them, fill with stuffing, and seal the edges forming a triangle.
Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 min.
